For safety professionals shaping strategy, decisions, and outcomes.

The Advanced Safety Professional Practice Program (ASPP) equips experienced safety professionals to contribute confidently at the senior leadership table. It builds strategic capability, professional judgement and influence, so participants can shape decisions, challenge systems and embed the safety of work into organisational performance.

Designed to have impact. Built for real world operations.

ASPP develops advanced professional capability for safety professionals engaged in strategic safety work, supporting better decisions, stronger strategy, and meaningful outcomes.

Strategy, Not Activity

ASPP develops the capability to shape safety strategy and influence organisational priorities. Participants strengthen how they frame issues, navigate trade-offs, and focus attention on outcomes that improve the safety of work.

Executive-Level Influence

The program develops the confidence and judgement required to influence senior leaders in complex organisational decisions. ASPP strengthens how safety professionals frame issues, navigate tension, and earn credibility where organisational direction is set.

Making Sense of Complexity

ASPP builds the capability to navigate complex systems, competing priorities, and uncertainty without defaulting to oversimplification. Participants learn how to exercise sound judgement and guide decisions where risk, work, and organisational pressures intersect.

Measuring What Actually Matters

The program shifts focus from lag indicators and assurance activity to insight and learning. Participants build the capability to assess whether strategies and controls are genuinely improving the safety of work.

Leading Safety at Scale

Participants develop the capability to lead safety across multiple sites, risks, and operating contexts. The program strengthens consistent judgement and decision-making while remaining responsive to local conditions and realities.

Program Content

Six levels. Twelve modules. Building strategic capability to improve the safety of work.

Level 1: Establishing context

ASPP develops the capability to understand the broader system in which safety operates. Participants strengthen how they interpret safety science, question organisational assumptions, and critically examine how strategy, structure and management systems shape the safety of work.

Level 2: Creating Influence

ASPP develops the capability to build influence where decisions that shape the safety of work are made. Participants strengthen how they build relationships, use inquiry, navigate tension, and have constructive conversations that earn credibility across the organisation.

Level 3: Managing Risk

The program builds advanced capability in understanding, anticipating and shaping risk. Participants develop deeper insight into risk psychology, control effectiveness and proactive risk management, focusing on outcomes that improve the safety of work rather than activity alone.

Level 4: Managing Work

ASPP strengthens the capability to embed safety within the way work is designed and governed. Participants learn how to shape management systems, reduce safety clutter, evaluate assurance, and ensure that processes genuinely support safer operational performance.

Level 5: Leading Change

The program builds the capability to lead and sustain organisational improvement. Participants develop the judgement required to diagnose opportunities, shape strategy, and guide change in complex environments where competing priorities and constraints are the norm.

Level 6: Facilitating Learning

ASPP strengthens the capability to turn events and operational experience into organisational learning. Participants build skill in understanding work, conducting meaningful investigations, facilitating learning teams, and monitoring whether improvement efforts are delivering safer outcomes.

Delivery Timeframe

ASPP is delivered over 12 weeks in a structured, cohort-based format that builds depth, momentum and sustained capability.
